BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Beyond the classroom, we pride ourselves on our academic enrichment to foster this love of learning. This includes a plethora of academic CCA offerings, ranging from Cryptic Puzzle Solving to Topical Talk, Brighton Magazine publications to Sustainability Club.
We compete in numerous academic competitions within the Brighton College family group and internationally, ranging from the Linguistic Olympiad to Young Musician of the Year, from F1 in Schools to the UKMT Maths Challenges. Museum visits, theatre trips and subject-specific workshops give a deeper insight into subject specialisms. For all our pupils, there is the opportunity to try something new or pursue their academic passions.
The Performing Arts play an important part in the daily life of the College. In fact, ask most pupils what their favourite lessons are, and the Performing Arts will be right up there! Whether it be Music, Drama or Dance, Brighton College (Singapore) has something for everyone, both in and out of the classroom, helping the pupil grow in confidence and learning to express themselves.
At Brighton College (Singapore), pupils are free to develop their creativity and express themselves in a vibrant atmosphere through a variety of art-related subjects. We know that participation in the Arts is essential in order to nurture the creativity, passion and individuality of each pupil. This complements the academic life of the school in a very special way.
We prepare our pupils to become critical thinkers, problem solvers and young entrepreneurs. Through instilling practical and creative skills in a variety of materials and technologies, we encourage and support a range of artistic ambitions.
At Brighton College (Singapore), we are committed to providing sport for all. Pupils benefit from first-class sporting facilities and guidance from our talented coaches. Our incredible sporting facilities enable us to offer a huge range of games options, ensuring that all pupils can enjoy exercise, find their passion and, if they wish, strive to excel in their chosen sport.
With over 120 Co-curricular Activities (CCAs) offered throughout the College, we ensure there are opportunities for every pupil to get involved in the life of the College. From Italian Culture club to Engineering club, Rubik’s Cube club to Debating club , pupils can choose from a range of activities to try something new or pursue a passion.
School trips are a valuable educational opportunity for our pupils to explore new places and cultures. Trips also help to foster personal and social development through new experiences.
A number of stimulating trips, both local and international, complement and enhance our pupils’ learning. The first-hand experience pupils gain on these trips enables them to acquire an invaluable blend of knowledge, skills and understanding, which enriches their global perspective.
Each Year Group is offered the opportunity to go on day trips within Singapore (such as visiting museums, theatre trips, aquarium visits, gallery trips and specialist workshops). We arrange an annual residential for each Year Group to ensure all pupils have the chance to experience new cultures, try new challenges and develop new friendships with their peers.
The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College is to join us at an Open House, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you have about life here.
