Inspiring and Creative
At Brighton College (Singapore), we implement a play-based curriculum in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), from Pre-Nursery Pufflings to Reception. Our dedicated teachers tailor learning to each child’s interests, using observations, assessments, and teachable moments to guide their next steps. By engaging in activities they enjoy, children are more motivated to learn and explore. Our small class sizes ensure that each pupil receives individualised attention, fostering rapid development and progress.
Understanding the significant transition from Reception to Year 1, we place Year 1 and Year 2 within the Early Learning Village, part of the Pre-Prep School. This first year of our enhanced English National Curriculum introduces pupils to a broad range of academic subjects, including core areas such as Maths, English, Mandarin, and Science. Additionally, specialist lessons in Dance, Drama, Music, PE, Swimming, and Art are increased, providing a well-rounded, enriching educational experience.

Foreign Languages
We believe learning Mandarin opens doors to a world of opportunities, making it a valuable skill in today’s global landscape. To accommodate diverse learning needs, we provide distinct streams including Advanced Mandarin for those native and near native learners and Mandarin as a Foreign Language.
In our Pre-Prep program, Mandarin instruction is delivered through age-appropriate, topic-based lessons, ensuring young learners engage with the language in a meaningful and enjoyable way. From Pre-Nursery to Reception, pupils enjoy Mandarin immersion once a week.
Our Subjects
Creative Arts
At Brighton College (Singapore), we nurture creativity from the very start of a pupil’s education. From Reception, art is introduced as a specialist subject, offering a vibrant environment where pupils explore a wide range of materials and techniques. They are encouraged to express their individuality while drawing inspiration from artistic traditions across time and cultures.
Weekly art lessons are designed to spark curiosity and foster personal expression. In our purpose-built art studio, pupils engage in hands-on activities like painting, sculpture, and collaborative mixed media projects, as well as photography and printing techniques that blend art with technology.
As pupils progress, they build confidence and deepen their understanding of diverse artistic styles and mediums. Open-ended projects allow them to develop their creative voices while learning the value of collaboration.
At the end of each year, the school showcases pupils’ artistic achievements in a vibrant exhibition, celebrating their growth and creativity. At Brighton, we cultivate a lifelong love of art.
Music
At Brighton College (Singapore) children are introduced to performing arts at the very beginning of their educational journey. We believe that children benefit enormously from early exposure to music and performance. Each week, children are able to express themselves creatively and bring their own ideas to life. Children are encouraged to find their voice in a welcoming and nurturing environment, providing a lifelong love of learning for the arts.
At Brighton College (Singapore), children can have individual instrumental lessons, tailored to the age of the children, which are taught by a team of professional musicians on a weekly basis, giving them the chance to develop their musicianship as they progress through the years.
Music lessons take place in a bright and well-equipped music room, offering a wide range of tuned and untuned percussion instruments, enhancing our pupils’ musical experience through a hands-on approach.
Dance and Drama
Our Dance and Drama studio offers our pupils the chance to express themselves in a purpose-built space, giving them the freedom to explore their theatrical side. Children are taught values of theatre, from being a confident performer to a respectful member of an audience. They are given the opportunity to perform and gain confidence in front of their peers and they have the chance to showcase their work at various events throughout the year.
At Brighton College (Singapore), we give children the chance to participate in the highly acclaimed LAMDA programme, where children learn the fundamentals of performance in subjects such as Speaking Verse and Prose and Acting. Children are able to take graded exams on a musical instrument and in LAMDA. The College has an impressive record of results with our latest cohort all being awarded distinction.
